It was founded in 1989 and split up in 2001 after Umbarger left the grouping.
The band rehabilitated and lanched an album, “No Deliverance” in 2008. The Toadies started in 1989 in Fort Worth, Texas. They recorded a only some cassette solos and an E.P. entitled Pleather before signing to Interscope Records. Their first album, Rubberneck was launched in the summer of 1994. It comprised of five singles, "Possum Kingdom" "Away", "Tyler","Mister Love", and "I Come From the Water".
The Toadies triped comprehensively since 1990s , helping Rubberneck, opening for artists like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bush, White Zombie, and The Butthole Surfers. They also arranged tours with performances of Supersuckers, and The Reverend Horton Heat. The group was a standard act at the festivals Buzzfest in Houston and Edgefest in Dallas, during these years.
