Williams wants her music to be an "efficient career," something she can do her whole life. She struggles to achieve this by "constantly courting your muse, keep writing stuff that feels risky about things you believe in, that you are actually feeling.
Her recent albums are described by further lush arrangements, guest artists, movement away from the tropes and techniques of folk song-writing.
